Great honour for Nico Klein Beernink to be elected honorary member of EPA.
Mr Nico Klein Beernink received the Honorary Membership certificate from Joan Font, president of the European Parking Association. This award acknowledges Mr Klein Beernink's extremely valuable contribution to the EPA, an international parking organisation whose present form is largely due to his enthusiasm and good ideas.
Mr Klein Beernink's contribution to the EPA includes organising the third EPA conference in Amsterdam, introducing the very successful bi-annual EPA Awards and relaunching the Parking Trend International magazine for which he was also editor and writer.
In addition Mr Klein Beernink's initiatives, creativity and commitment have been at the foundation of all relevant services introduced by the EPA during the past 15 years.
Honorary Membership was awarded during the 14th European Parking Conference in Vienna, Austria, which was held on 14 & 15 September 2009. Poor health prevented Mr Klein Beernink from travelling to Austria for the conference last month. This is why Mr Joan Font, chairman of the EPA, came to Heerlen to present the award to Mr Klein Beernick in person; also present at the ceremony were his son (Pieter) and Mr Vleugels, CEO of Q-Park NV.
