projekt w: One of Germany’s Most Architecturally Beautiful Car Parks - Fitted with INTEGRA-pw

Almost 10,000 meters of INTEGRA-pw safety barriers were installed on five levels

The architectural firm of schultearchitekten GmbH and the Deutsche Industrie- und Parkhausbau GmbH, as joint winners of the Design and Build competition, have created an impressive architectural landmark for Cologne exhibition center and the urban area. The car park acts as a charming reception for visitors, even before they enter the exhibition grounds next door.

The curved building in a structural steelwork design consists of two structures, each of which has 5 park decks. Internal connecting ramps as well as the separate exits for traffic heading into or out of the city ensure a swift flow of traffic.

This clever car park combines parking and logistics areas: The ground floor has 702 parking spaces for trucks and logistics areas for exhibition assembly and dismantling traffic; the 2724 spaces for cars are distributed over the park decks above this.

projekt w supplied the necessary safety barriers. INTEGRA-pw blends in discretely with the overall appearance, without compromising the impressive look of the facade or ventilation (ventilation cross-section).

Almost 10,000 meters of INTEGRA-pw safety barriers were installed on all five levels. Sealing mats installed on top of each other not only secure the ground floor against unauthorized access over their full height, but their variable use also produces an attractive overall impression.
