Portier Lands in Canada

MI-8 Innovation is a Canadian based company that designs, installs and integrates intelligent transport systems. The company has now installed a parking guidance system at Place Bell, a multifunctional cultural and sports complex in the city of Laval, Canada. It has a 10,000-seat arena that can be converted into a performance venue with an NHL-standard skating rink, an Olympic-sized skating rink with a 2,500 seating capacity and an NHL-standard community skating rink that can welcome 500 spectators.

The versatility of Place Bell provides the possibility of presenting a wide variety of events, including professional and amateur hockey games, concerts, family entertainment, theatrical performances, community and corporate events as well as offering a schedule of events open to the public. There is also a commercial area to accommodate various shops on 2 floors.

Place Bell offers interior parking for 700 vehicles. MI-8 chose Portier HOST as parking guidance platform and as part of the project, they installed third party cameras for counting and LED displays for guidance. These third-party technologies were integrated into Portier HOST using the HOST’s API for import and export of data. For us, this is a beautiful example of the versatility of our platform integration which offers Place Bell a single seamless user experience!

Portier HOST is a unique guidance platform offering a single dashboard where all the parking activities at the Place Bell’s parking garage can be seen and controlled. Different stakeholders can have different access rights with various views into the system. The system is extremely user friendly and can be accessed with any mobile device or PC.

Visitors arriving at Place Bell by car are able to catch the show on time. Finding a place to park will be quick and easy due to installed parking guidance solution.
