How Digitalization Works in the Park and Ride Car Park with Peter Park

The city of Horb am Neckar has recently digitized its P+R parking garage at the train station, in cooperation with its partner Peter Park. From now on, more than 30,000 drivers a year benefit from the frictionless free flow experience enabled by Peter Park's technology. License plate recognition is used at the entrances and exits. A GDPR compliant software runs in the cloud, which is linked to the payment of parking transactions.

Ticketless Payment: Via App or Smart Payment Kiosk

As part of the new access management system, Peter Park also installed a new payment kiosk: In order to pay, users simply enter their license plate. The usual paper or plastic ticket is no longer necessary. Payment is now also possible by debit card. An even more convenient way is to use the Parkster payment app . The parking app is fully integrated into the Peter Park ecosystem, meaning all transactions can be paid conveniently via app. This advantage does not only apply to short term parking payments, but also to the purchase of long term parking permits, which constitutes a clear advantage for the numerous commuters: they can buy their monthly or annual ticket digitally or simply pay on demand.

No Barriers but Full Control - Automatic Enforcement

The barrier free access control enables a fast moving and smooth traffic flow, preventing the typical stop and go as well as traffic jams during rush hours. The free entry resonates particularly well with the commuters who want to catch their train quickly in the morning. Moreover, with Peter Park, the costly maintenance of physical barriers and/or the manual control of parking violations are made redundant. Parking violations are automatically recorded by the system.
