Parkxper Equips Taichung Station’s Park and Ride with Parking Guidance System

Located in central Taiwan, inside the satellite city, Taichung Station will soon become a transportation hub with three different railway facilities. With public transportation improving, this will also bring popularity to the park and ride culture we now see in many countries.

Taichung Station has four levels of parking garage totaling up to 1,482 parking spaces. With the help of Parkxper’s PGS, we made it even easier for drivers to finish parking within three minutes, relieving the stress of finding a parking space during rush hour.

Upon entry, the information video wall will show exactly how many spaces are left on each floor. At a glance, the driver can make a decision right away on which floor they should park their car.

Placed at each important junction, dynamic LED signage will guide the driver to the area with most spaces available. It is no longer a gamble at each junction where the driver must take a moment and possibly make the wrong decision. The dynamic LED signage can display alphabets, numbers, and symbols, depending on the need of the parking lot - it is all customizable.

Indoors, camera-based guidance with LED lights makes it easy for drivers to find a space – they simply need to head straight to the green light! Green is for vacant, red for occupied, blue for disabled and pink for parent and child. With one LED for six spaces, they are energy-saving and easy to see.

For the outdoor parking area, we also have PGS cameras operating by license plate recognition. It does not only make it easier for drivers to find their vehicle, but it is also easier to manage by knowing the occupancy rate.

The Car Finder Kiosk combines perfectly with the camera-based parking guidance system, preventing drivers from walking around the lot looking for their vehicles. Thanks to the Car Finder Kiosk they can enter their license plate number, find their car quickly and exit the lot swiftly.

In a large parking lot, there could be incidents happening at any time and so the emergency intercom with two-way audio and real-time image is vital for providing immediate assistance.

With public transportation improving dramatically, parking lots also needs to step up their game to provide a better parking experience.
