The Australian Driverless Vehicle Initiative (ADVI) will be kicking off proceedings today with its Capital City Forum. The forum will provide a unique discussion on the impacts and opportunities driverless vehicles will bring to the parking industry. Panel members include:
- Larry Schneider, Principal Consultant at ARRB Group
- Anne Still, General Manager, Public Policy at RAC
- Steve Beyer, Executive Director: Integrated Transport Planning with Western Australia Department of Transport
- Lorraine Duffy, Chief Executive at Parking Australia
- Peter Damen, Chair of the Executive Steering Committee at ADVI
Attendees will also receive a site visit to Perth Airport, where they will see first-hand the latest innovations in airport parking.
Tomorrow marks the opening of the trade exhibition, where over 40 exhibitors will be showcasing the latest technology, products and best practice in the parking industry. One of the highlight exhibitors this year is ADVI, which will be featuring an electric powered driverless POD that uses sensor and navigation technology.
"It's a great pleasure to welcome delegates to the 15th Parking Australia Convention & Exhibition in Perth. This year, we have a wide range of exhibitors showcasing new technologies aimed at not only improving the performance of the parking industry but also maximising the level of customer convenience and loyalty, ensuring your parking assets are achieving their full potential," said Lorraine Duffy, Chief Executive at Parking Australia.
"We all know a car park is often your customer's first and last point of contact with airports, universities, shopping centres and town centres. We are confident the products and services on display at the exhibition will provide the tools to make that experience as positive as possible," she concluded.
Registrations for PACE open this morning and a welcome reception will take place from 5pm - 7pm in the Grand Ballroom at Crown Perth. For more information visit www.pace2016.com.au
