The Mayo Clinic Adds Park Assist's Smart-Sensor PGS to its Growing Arizona Campus

- Phoenix, Arizona
Mayo Clinic Hospital

Park Assist® has been awarded the Parking Guidance System (PGS) contract for the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. One of the country's top-ranked hospitals, the Mayo Clinic, is an academic medical center currently based in three primary locations: Rochester, Minnesota; Jacksonville, Florida; and Scottsdale, Arizona, focused on integrated patient care, education, and research. The Mayo campus in Scottsdale/Phoenix is expanding its existing 1.7 million-square-foot facility, adding 1.4 million square feet, almost doubling in size. The campus will also be incorporating a new 1,721 space parking garage complete with Park Assist's proprietary M4 smart-sensor system to accommodate this development.

As a growing facility, the Mayo Clinic was eager to install a PGS that had the flexibility to grow with the Hospital – One that fulfilled the needs of today's parking environment while anticipating its ever-changing demands. Park Assist's proprietary M4 smart-sensor system will provide employees, patients, and visitors at the Mayo Clinic with the highest level of guidance from the moment they enter the facility. This installation will also include Digital Signage and Park Assist's Ops Command+ API Package with website integration capabilities, Park Alerts™, and a mobile application add-on.

Before arriving at the Mayo Clinic, visitors and patients can check on space availability through a mobile application or the Mayo Clinic's website. Park Assist's website integration and mobile application, designed to alleviate parking frustration, display real-time information and are automatically updated continuously throughout the day.

Park Assist's Digital Wayfinding Signage and camera-based M4 PGS will guide drivers to open parking bays as they enter the facility. The signage directs guests to specific areas in the facility with open parking bays; the color-coded smart-sensors indicate availability down to the bay level. Using red and green lights to signal which spaces are vacant or occupied, the PGS eliminates additional stress and uncertainty from the parking journey and reduces drivers' search and park times.

Additionally, the Mayo Clinic will also implement Park Assist's Park Alerts software feature, offering parking management valuable tools to effectively monitor space utilization and enforce parking policies. Park Alerts will send notifications to management of any policy violations by providing time-based or license plate-based alerts.

"It is exciting to see the benefits of our technology expand into hospital parking operations. Partnering with such a well-respected organization, known throughout the world as one of the leading medical centers, is truly an honor. We are proud to have a system that can accommodate the Hospital's growing need for camera-based parking guidance while improving parking operations and elevating the customer experience." Said Jeff Sparrow, Regional Account Manager.

Partnering with Copperhead electric, the installation is slated for completion by January 2021.
