Parking, Business and Economic Leaders Headline National Parking Association’s 2013 Convention and Expo
Cisco’s Wim Elfrink to Keynote and Jones Lang LaSalle Presents 2014 Economic Forecast
The National Parking Association's 62nd Annual Convention & Expo, October 7-10 in Chicago, Ill., will feature leading authorities on technology, economic and business trends shaping the parking industry. The conference will focus on peak performance, parking best practices and cutting-edge technology.
Wim Elfrink, executive vice president, industry solutions and Chief Globalisation Officer, Cisco, will deliver the keynote address. Elfrink will speak on “The Internet of Things: Parking the Next Killer App,” on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at 8:30 a.m.
“The parking industry is changing rapidly. Big data, technology infrastructure and smart transportation, along with Internet marketing, mobile pay and mobile marketing are changing how parking does business,” said NPA President Christine Banning, CAE, in announcing Elfrink’s selection. “Our keynote will explore how these tech trends are reshaping economics, and how our attendees can capitalize on these industry-transforming technologies.”
Jones Lang LaSalle’s Economic Forecast: Also on Oct. 8, William T. Krouch, president, Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, will present a 2014 Economic Forecast: Real Estate, Financing and Mixed Use Development. Key takeaways include a commercial development and construction outlook; the future of financing and commercial development; and mixed-use trends and their effect on the market.
Krouch holds an MBA from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Virginia. Jones Lang LaSalle is a leading financial and professional services firm specializing in commercial real estate services and investment management.
NPA's Convention & Expo features six tracks of targeted education: peak performance, finance, management and operations, technology, university, and Certified Parking Professional (CPP) certification.
Industry experts and thought leaders will present insights, expertise and perspectives on parking in 2014 and beyond. NPA's peer networks and roundtable discussions provide private and public sector professionals with access to peer experts and best practices worldwide.
