National Parking Association Kick’s Off 63rd Annual Convention and Expo with Most Education, Exhibits & Attendance

The National Parking Association (NPA) kicked off its 63rd Annual Convention & Expo today in Las Vegas, Nev. once again breaking records with the most attendees, exhibitors & education sessions in the Association’s history.

The Convention features leading authorities on technology, transportation and business trends shaping the parking industry. The conference will focus on technology, trends and transportation and will look to the future of parking. Kurt Buecheler, SVP business development & channel partners for Streeline, Inc., serves as the NPA Convention Chair.

“The 2014 NPA convention is the largest and most impactful convention in the history of the NPA; and with good reason. The NPA team has taken definitive steps to broaden the ecosystem of participants to include many other industries to enrich the conversations at the convention with the latest trends & technology," said Buecheler.

The NPA Convention & Expo will feature Joachim Hauser, vice president business development mobility services—parking of BMW Group as the keynote speaker. Hauser will speak on “Planning for Growth & Success in a Rapidly Changing World," tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. Pacific.

"Cars are rapidly becoming 'rolling computers' with sophisticated connectivity and full suites of intelligent driving services. This will change how people drive and park; it will also change the services that consumers need," said Buecheler. "Our Keynote by BMW will explore evolutions in urban mobility, vehicles and services. Further, our 'Parking 2020' panel will bring together experts to look at how the near horizon in auto connectivity, connected cars and city policies will impact parking."

The expert panel, 2020: Parking & Transportation in a Connected World, also held on Oct. 21, will offer a strategic look at the trends, technology and market conditions impacting the future of parking. Panelists will highlight their perspective on trends shaping the transportation & parking industries and what it means to you.

Panelists include Ken Husting, P.E., senior transportation engineer, City of Los Angeles; Rob Hyatt, executive director of marketing management, AT&T; and Mike Tinskey, director, global vehicle electrification and infrastructure, Ford.
