NAGELS DRUCK KEMPEN - 25th anniversary

Nagels Druck will celebrate its 25th anniversary in October 2013.
The company, which was founded in Kempen, Germany in 1928 under the name Schwieren, was acquired by Karl Nagels in 1977, and is now run by his sons, Werner and Thomas Nagels. They are both qualified printers, having served their time in their father’s company.

The company has grown steadily over the years, and the head office at Kempen is now the hub of the international group of companies known collectively as the “

Nagels Group

”. The Group currently consists of

11 companies worldwide

and employs 230 people, 160 of whom are based in Kempen.

Nagels Druck specialises in

Offset, Flexo and Digital Printing

, and is a certified producer of tickets for parking, events, entry and transit systems in more than 60 countries around the world. Other products include

RFID technology, plastic cards

and

desktop print solutions

.

The requirements of quality and functionality increase continually”, says Werner Nagels. “The increasing mechanisation of the world demands new technologies to be applied to conventional printing products. The development of RFID is particularly interesting as it offers new possibilities for mass transit, event ticketing, and security. Counteracting fraud as well as protecting privacy will continue to be important factors for ticketing. We keep up with the times and we combine tradition with innovation for future-oriented product solutions.”

Success has proved (them) right. For example, Nagels Druck was chosen to supply the entry tickets for the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Germany.

Nagels Druck is very conscious of its surroundings, and has found that environmental friendship can work hand in hand with economical manufacturing. The use of FSC-certified paper helps conserve natural resources and Nagels Druck gained this certification in 2011. The use of 900 solar panels on the roof of the Kempen buildings supplies an eighth of the company’s power requirements.
