Contactless Parking: The Perfect Fit for Sensitive Sites
HUB Parking Technology France Support the Santépôle Parking Project
In order to reopen, all businesses are required to adopt measures that limit the amount of physical interaction. Social distancing, capacity reduction, and sanitizing regulations have become daily activities for all facilities where people (will) work, interact, and do their essentials.
Hospitals and health centers customarily apply very strict control to pedestrian and vehicle access. Even more so during these times, where access systems are put under extreme pressure and must perform faultlessly. In addition to their standard flow, they might even be slightly repurposed, to safely operate as COVID-19 drive tests: this is the case of P2 car park of Santépôle health complex in Melun, France, as of yesterday. Its route has been modified, roadblocks set up, guidance signs updated accordingly, and of course, its exit terminals reconfigured to the new purpose by operator CITEPARK (a subsidiary of the Fayat group) with full support of HUB Parking Technology France.
The modification required just a short time thanks to the modular layout of the installation, which is a feature of the entire parking site – scalability, seamless connectivity, and proactive assistance could not prove less than key under these circumstances.
Even before the extraordinary became ordinary, the implementation of VoIP Intercom with customized priority management onto all stations, integrated in JMS management software, had been welcomed as the ideal channel to grant 24/7 impeccable customer service.
Santépôle offers across ten parking areas totaling 1650 stalls for visitors and employees of the public hospital and the private clinic, Saint Jacques l’Ermitage, that compose the health complex. Drivers have massively used the option of NFC contactless payment at exit terminals to avoid queues at pay stations, while emergency vehicles take dedicated entrances regulated by LPR.
Parking lanes and access to the various areas are signaled by LED displays through an efficient guidance system: this method minimizes the risk of taking wrong paths, and keeps routes separate for a volume of cars and emergency vehicles that totaled above 600,000 units last year.
Monitoring, assistance, and advanced reporting are all managed through a centralized control room, simplifying the analysis of data about vehicle access, car park performance, and overall operations – alleviating the stress of parking from drivers, operator, and the hospital management at once!
