Holiday Extras Snaps Up ParkCare in Third Dutch Deal

Holiday Extras Acquires ParkCare

ParkCare joins the Holiday Extras Group

Holiday Extras has acquired 100% of ParkCare, a leading Dutch online parking comparison platform, further strengthening its position in the European holiday extras market. Founder and CEO Theo Zijlstra will step down after a handover period.

This acquisition brings ParkCare's brands, customer base, and long-term supplier contracts under the Holiday Extras umbrella, significantly expanding its airport parking network across Europe. With a well-established reputation for simplifying parking bookings, ParkCare aligns perfectly with Holiday Extras' mission to deliver seamless, hassle-free travel planning.

ParkCare customers will enjoy an immediate increase in product range (one search for airport parking and hotels with parking included), additional airports across Europe, improved service, money-saving addons like overstay protection, faster booking, additional payment options and more to come.

By adding a highly engaged customer base and a strong, trusted brand in the parking sector, Holiday Extras is set to continue its accelerated European growth. The deal follows recent investments in Quick Parking and Transferz and the Munich airport car park expansion, reinforcing Holiday Extras' strategy of expanding its direct supply, product range and tech capabilities across key European markets.

Building on Success & Driving Innovation

Holiday Extras will retain ParkCare's operational base in the Netherlands, ensuring continuity for customers and suppliers. The integration will focus on:

  • Enhancing ParkCare's booking platform with AI-driven tools and customer experience innovations
  • Expanding airport parking supply and strengthening strategic partnerships across Europe
  • Seamlessly integrating ParkCare into Holiday Extras' multi-product platform for travelers and partners.

Simon Hagger, Chief Business Development Officer Holiday Extras, who led the deal, commented: "Many congratulations to Theo for building such a great online parking business over the last 10 years. He and his team have secured excellent market share around key European airports by providing customers with a smart and simple online booking experience to compare the prices and quality of hundreds of parking operators. Our plans are to deepen the relationships with parking suppliers and over time open up the full Holiday Extras product portfolio to ParkCare customers so we can continue on our mission to make travel organising hassle free across Europe. We look forward to working with Theo to ensure a smooth handover and ensuring his team has the warmest of welcomes to Holiday Extras."

Matthew Pack, Group CEO of Holiday Extras, added:"My thanks to Theo for making the deal easy. ParkCare is a profitable, well run business and Theo is an energetic, can-do, solution-focused entrepreneur whom my team have enjoyed working with to make the deal happen. I wish him all the best with his next project."

Theo Zijlstra, Founder and CEO of ParkCare said; "After years of dedication and hard work with the incredible ParkCare team, I am proud of what we have built together and how we have expanded our presence worldwide. The transition to Holiday Extras has been smooth and constructive, and I am convinced that the business is in the best possible hands. Holiday Extras has the ambition and international growth strategy to take ParkCare to the next level, and I have no doubt that they will succeed. For me, this is the right moment to take a new step in my life, knowing with certainty that ParkCare's future is secure and full of potential."
