29 nations meet at the Hectronic sales conference / reflection of international trade
Every two years Hectronic invites you to a big sales conference. This conference always has an international flair, as reflected in the latest issue. Associates from 29 countries met in Mallorca, in order to discuss markets, products and strategies. And two aspects are always important: the fun factor and personal contact.

Standing and looking at the packed conference hall in the Hotel Melia Palace in Palma. Hectronic invited guests to Mallorca, the Germans favourite holiday island and they were quite happy to respond to this invitation, because inclusive of their own teams more than 100 participants attended. Your attendance also demonstrates just how important an informal exchange among each other and a common path is to you, said Stefan Forster, Managing Director of Hectronic welcoming the illustrious gathering. Delegates travelled from 29 countries, from Sweden to South Africa, from Portugal to Russia, India and Malaysia. This very guest list alone clearly illustrates, in which international circles the manufacturer for refuelling and parking system now operates.

This internationality, combined with two different product areas, Hectronic confers a certain degree of stability especially in economically sluggish times. The current crisis certainly had quite an impact here. Clearly, we have to bear a considerable drop in sales and must resign ourselves to that fact that there is only a glimmer of an upward trend.
Act and act fast, is also the motto at Hectronic in the current slump. In doing so, focus on the cooperation with partner companies, of which there are now 100 on all six continents. A good relationship and trust are absolutely essential. And this may well be strengthened at a conference. Apparently we are correct with this assessment, because participant numbers have increased continuously in recent years, says Stefan Forster.

Differences in the respective requirements and specifications in individual countries also become abundantly clear in a conference and also accounts for its appeal. Not only Hectronic has the opportunity to present its products and solutions, in fact external speakers also have the opportunity to speak and present their specific projects. Then there are the much quoted aha-reactions along the lines of: Gosh, so make it so that it is still a perfect match for us!

In addition to the presentations in the large conference room with all the participants Hectronic has also set up the so-called workshops, in which technical innovations can be intensively debated in small groups of people. That has proved to be very successful, as has been the analysis of questionnaires handed out to participants, says Stefan Forster.

And what conclusions does the Managing Director of Hectronic draw for his company from this event? We must be able to adapt ourselves to several individual solutions and have the ability to provide a wide variety of product variants within very short periods of time. The product cycles are becoming shorter and the demands are higher in respect of flexibility, he summarises the procedure. In addition to this informative website a sales conference always has a communicative component. Someone who only knows each other from emails or telephone conversations that are fairly impersonal frequently struggles with his counterpart. Both protagonists then get to know each other personally; then everyone can see one another and understands each others point of view much better. Where previously emails were chased back and forth for days and now they have a pleasant chat over a beer. It is actually the case that problems are often solved faster and by mutual agreement following personal contact, said Stefan Forster. It is customary at Hectronic conferences to spend time getting acquainted with one another. Among other trips the programme also included, a Hectronic Olympics, a visit to a vineyard and a gala dinner with music and flamenco dancers in a 700 year old country house. We have always had a great atmosphere at our conferences and it is always nice to see how well different temperaments and characters get on so well together, says Hectronic Managing Director Stefan Forster.
