GMP Launches LPR with Tap & Park Technology for Seamless Parking

Get My Parking introduces another seamless access mechanism to its award-winning smart parking platform - GMP’s Tap & Park technology now comes with an LPR integration, which allows parkers to drive in and park with just the tap of their credit cards. Users no longer have to waste time to book a spot or to download a mobile app to register at the car park.

The original version of Tap and Park allowed users to gain access to gated parking lots enabled with the IoT solution GMP Access. The parkers had to tap their cards twice - once at the entry and once at exit to initiate and close their parking session. But this method is limited by the fact that entry and exit still involves a few consumer touchpoints. While it is contactless and cashless, it is not completely seamless.

But that changes now - GMP introduces an LPR integration for Tap and Park. Using our retrofit technology, existing gates can now allow free-flow entry and exit with just one consumer touchpoint. Users don’t need to use their card at the entry at all with Tap N Park integrated with LPR technology.

Those who have registered their license plate number on the operator’s consumer app can drive straight into their car park without having to worry about initiating the parking session. GMP Access will start the session using the license plate number as identification. They can pay using a tap of their card at the exit, where LPR technology will once again identify their car and close the session once the payment has been made.
