Get My Parking Launches Tap & Park

Smart parking pioneer Get My Parking introduces Tap & Park, a ticket-less and app-less parking experience. Lots enabled with Tap & Park technology can provide users the option to drive in and park without having to waste time booking a spot by downloading a mobile app, registering with their details, or waiting for a physical ticket.

Users can gain access to parking lots with Tap & Park with just their credit cards. With a tap of your card, Get My Parking’s smart access control mechanisms will initiate your parking session and open the barrier for the vehicle. The parkers can use the closest available parking space for their cars and leave the parking lot without completing the registration or entering details on a web app.

On exiting the parking lot, parkers have to tap their card once more at the exit. The display will show parkers exactly how long their car was inside the parking lot, the entry and exit time, how much they have to pay, and a breakdown of the fees. With another tap or swipe of your credit card, the payment is complete and barriers open to let the vehicles through. With just a few steps, the hassle that comes with searching for and pre-booking car spaces has vanished - if you see a lot enabled with Tap & Park, you can confidently drive in there without worrying about reservations, provided it is not rush hour and there are available spots.

While there are no tickets involved, parkers can always access the invoice of the transaction by scanning the QR code that will be displayed on the exit. If the parker’s vehicle number is registered in the consumer-facing app powered by GMP, the details of their parking usage will be updated in their account history so that users can keep track of their activity.
