Frogparking Leaps onto Deloitte Fast 50 List
Frogparking Chief Operating Officer, Shareena Sandbrook, says that the company’s placing in this year’s Deloitte Fast 50 list is a major validation of the company’s direction and strategy since going global.
The Palmerston North-based global parking technology company finished 24th in a list of the country’s 50 fastest growing companies at the Deloitte Festival of Growth last week.
“The list is made up of some amazing Kiwi success stories, all of which have incredible growth numbers. To come away 24th shows how Frogparking has gone from strength to strength since we founded the company in 2010. It is great recognition of how hard everyone in the company is pushing to reach our long-term growth targets. Not only were we 24th overall, but we were also 6th in the technology category and 6th overall in the Wellington and Lower North Island Region. We were also awarded the fastest growing export business in the Wellington and Lower North Island at the regional awards last month,” says Shareena.
Growth in sales, a truly premium product, aggressive expansion into key markets, a pivot in sales and marketing strategy, and bringing a typical Kiwi can-do attitude to the parking industry are being attributed to as the main reasons for the continued growth.
“We are winning deals everywhere and the company is truly global now. Over 75% of our sales last year were exports to our key markets, the United States and Australia. Some of the world’s biggest and best shopping malls, airports, universities, and cities are using our technology to enhance their customer’s experience from the moment they arrive by making it easier for them to find a parking space.
We are the only provider in the market that is offering a premium solution. Every part of our solution is quality assured by designing everything in-house, sourcing only the latest and highest quality componentry, and then having a team to assemble everything. We even have crews of people to install a system on-site.
Our customers like that we are the complete package. Many of our competitors are limited to either indoor or outdoor, or they rely on third-party technology, but we do the lot. Sensors, dynamic signage, LED Guidance lights - we’ve even developed two mobile apps to make sure we covered all of the bases.
Our software has changed the way many of these large operators are looking at their carparks, too. We are delivering huge amounts of data on a user’s trends and behaviours in the parking facility and it’s helping operators understand their customer better to then make data-driven decisions about current and future infrastructure plans,” says Shareena.
For Frogparking, this success is only the beginning.
“Success for Frogparking over the next 1-3 years will involve building on the gains we have experienced in the last 12 months to stay on the same growth trend over this period. We will continue to roll out our premium product at sites in the USA, Australia, and New Zealand, increasing sales, and developing more new products to stay at the cutting edge of our industry," says Shareena.
