City of Trenton Makes Parking Even Easier with Flowbird Mobile Parking App
Touchless Parking Solution Comes to New Jersey’s Capital City
Flowbird Group, a global leader in curbside management and urban mobility solutions, announced that it has launched the Flowbird app in New Jersey’s State Capital, Trenton, together with Flowbird’s local distribution partner, DEVO & Associates. The smart mobile parking solution brings the ultimate convenience to motorists, allowing users to find and pay for parking with their iPhone or Android devices.
The Flowbird App officially launched in Trenton at the end of February and covers approximately 800 parking spaces, including all on-street parking locations and city-owned parking lots. Setting up an account is quick and simple after the app is downloaded to a mobile device from the App Store or Google Play Store. Accounts can be set up for individual motorists or for businesses to manage their fleets.
Designed as a mobility app, the Flowbird app features a map-based user interface, integrated with Waze and other navigation systems to guide users to their preferred parking location. The GPS-enabled map also allows users to select their parking location without manually inputting a zone code.
Users can choose to receive a reminder notification when their time is about to expire and then extend their time right from their mobile device. The app even provides walking directions back to the user’s original parking location.
The City will also benefit from Flowbird’s elite back-office management suite. The system integrates reporting of all meter and mobile transactions, making it easier than ever to manage the parking system minute-by-minute while making educated decisions for the future.
Enforcement officers have web-based access to Flowbird’s SmartCenter enforcement module, allowing officers to check the status of all plate numbers. If a citation needs to be issued, the officers utilize their current citation issuance solution installed on their handheld devices.
The City of Trenton joins several other towns in New Jersey using the Flowbird App, including Dover, Linden, Loch Arbour, New Providence, and Rahway. The Flowbird app is now available in over 100 parking locations across the United States and generated over 26 million transactions globally in 2020.
