FlashPARCS + FlashValet: Squaw Creek

- Resort at Squaw Creek at Lake Tahoe
FlashPARCS + FlashValet: Squaw Creek

Venue Challenges:

The Resort at Squaw Creek is nestled at the foothills of the Sierre Nevada mountain range and offers luxurious Lake Tahoe accommodations for its guests who come to ski Squaw Valley, golf at its championship golf course, or partake in its award-winning spa facilities. To accommodate their guests, Squaw Creek offers both valet and self-parking options to its guests. The challenge Squaw Creek faced was having parking for both Resort Guests and people just coming to ski without staying at the resort. With the parking lot open to the general public, Squaw Creek was losing revenue due to the number of people parking for free in their surface lot during the winter season. An additional challenge the resort faced was they were unable to integrate their valet and PARCS operations making revenue and access reporting impossible. The last problem was the snow and finding a system that could withstand harsh conditions.

Venue Solution:

  • FlashParking Solutions — FlashPARCS and FlashValet
  • Equipment Installed — 1 Entry and 1 Exit Smart Station, 1 Pay on Foot Station
  • Integrations — PMS Integration

FlashParking installed their FlashValet and FlashPARCS solution, which seamlessly works together via FlashParking’s award-winning, cloud-based platform. The single platform allows management to monitor and maximize their operations from a single device. A PMS integration was also implemented allowing for important revenue data to post to the hotel’s PMS system making the reconciliation process easier. Out in the open parking lot, new gates and entry and exit Smart Stations were installed to help reduce the number of parking squatters; and now all parkers are required to pay. For hotel guests, parking payment is folded into their hotel services, while ski visitors have the option of paying at a wall mounted pay-on-foot Smart Station or upon exit. Lastly, FlashParking’s Smart Station’s are UL rated and are fully functional with environmental conditions as low as -20 degrees to 140 degrees.
