HUB Parking Introduces Innovative CESM Board Embedded in Parking Barriers

HUB Parking Technology, a brand of FAAC Technologies, global leader in mobility and parking solutions, is proud to introduce the CESM board upgrade for their parking barriers PRO and PRO-M, branded Magnetic – the renowned brand for access control solutions within FAAC Technologies family. CESM stands for Control Electronics System on Module and it promises to enhance efficiency, reduce total cost of ownership (TCO), and ensure seamless traffic flow management in and out of parking lanes.

Innovative Solution for Modern Parking Needs

The CESM board, developed by our R&D teams, is now available as lane-controlling kit for integration into the barrier models Magnetic Pro and Pro-M, eliminating the need for additional civil work to install a Lane Controller or additional parking lane peripherals. This integration allows the installation of a standalone barrier in narrow parking lanes, whether they are entry, exit, or section lanes (nested areas) within a parking facility with design constraints. This innovative solution simplifies the installation process of the parking equipment on-site, which can be completed by the technical engineers’ team during the pre-staging phase of the barriers, significantly reducing fieldwork.

Key Features and Benefits

The CESM upgrade signifies HUB's unwavering commitment to protect customers' investments by continually releasing innovative features granting their parking assets a longer lifecycle. As part of HUB's connected ecosystem of parking services, it is meant to deliver:

  • Versatile Access Control: Manages vehicular lanes for both entry and exit, suitable for new sites or conversions from legacy Zeag systems.
  • Flexible Media Acceptance: Supports proximity cards, barcode tickets, AVI tags by UHF reader, and License Plate Recognition (LPR) camera readings.
  • Smaller Footprint: Eliminates the need for stations and lane controllers, reducing space requirements and storage conditions.
  • Lower TCO: Such efficient footprint reduces the total cost of ownership for parking operators.
  • Installation Time Savings: Can be pre-mounted in the local factory, minimizing disruption to parking operations.

The CESM-fitted barrier is the ideal solution for customers who prioritize flexibility, customization, and choice in their parking solutions. Use cases encompass:

  • Ticketless Car Parks: Ideal for vehicular lanes with only a barrier and LPR camera, eliminating the need for fallback ticketed systems.
  • Mixed-Use complexes with Multiple User Groups: Suitable for lanes accepting various access media, including License Plate Number, proximity cards, or QR codes.
  • Reservation-Only Lanes: Perfect for lanes dedicated to reservations using proximity cards, QR codes, or License Plate Number.

The CESM board embedded in the Magnetic barrier represents a significant advancement in parking technology, offering a more efficient, cost-effective, and seamless solution for modern parking facilities.

"With the CESM, we're glad to empower parking operators with an efficient solution that streamlines operations for all facilities where space constraints apply, through a minimal footprint" remarked Mattia Piunti, Head of Product Portfolio at FAAC Technologies. “Flexibility and innovation drive our efforts to keep our customers competitive with their parking operations.”

Sara Fiorini, Product Marketing Manager at HUB Parking Technology, added “The CESM integration is one of those invisible, yet very powerful, new technologies that have a great impact on the user experience and the facility management. The solution is set to facilitate the upgrade of existing car parks, and the deployment of advanced automated access control on all facilities with space restrictions”.
