Manises Municipality and mowiz TRUCK (EYSA) Inaugurate the Second Safe and Secure Truck Parking Area in Valencia

Remodelling Work Began Last Year With the Aim of Renovating Infrastructures and Improving Security Systems, Access Control and the Range of Rest and Comfort Services for Drivers

- Valencia, Spain
Truck Parking Area in Valencia

The Manises City Council and mowiz TRUCK, which manages the largest network of secure parking facilities for trucks in Spain with more than 3,500 spaces for renting (long or short term), have inaugurated the Manises secure parking for trucks, close to the AP7 and the Valencia Airport cargo terminal, with a capacity for 130 heavy vehicles.

The new facilities have state-of-the-art security systems both at the entrances and inside the car park. This will allow transport professionals to take their breaks with the peace of mind that their vehicles and goods will be protected. In addition, this truck park has advanced access control and security surveillance systems with cameras; reinforced lighting, perimeter fencing to prevent intrusion attempts; access control for heavy vehicles and drivers; and digital means of payment through the mowiz TRUCK digital platform, as well as through Via-T and other means of payment, including the most widespread professional channels in the European market.

This new SSTPA (Safe and Secure Truck Parking Area) will also have refrigerated hook-up points for trucks transporting (ultra) frozen cargo or those that need to maintain the cold chain so that they can do so without CO2 emissions. In addition, the area has additional services for both professionals and their companions, such as areas for physical activities and rest; hygiene services, showers and toilets; laundry; recreational areas, free Internet connection; restaurant/cooking areas and parking reservation management. All of this in safe and secure spaces that are audited and certified, and which will be officially certified to the EU Safe Parking Standard for Trucks at GOLD level.

The project stands out for the treatment of water, understood as an essential resource, and for this reason, measures have been implemented to reduce its consumption as much as possible in all the facilities. Furthermore, in view of the evolution of energy sources, the facilities are prepared to be able to offer electric charging points for all types of electric trucks by 2026.

With this new location, mowiz TRUCK reinforces the service it offers on the TEN-T Mediterranean corridor, where it already has nine secure spaces for trucks and more than 1,500 spaces under commercialisation, one of the most important routes for road freight transport. This location offers a key position for large logistics chains in the east of the peninsula.

Part of a national network

This new secure truck parking will become part of the mowiz TRUCK network, which is made up of 19 areas already in operation in other areas of Spain such as Andalusia, Catalonia, Madrid, Castile and Leon and the Basque Country.

With this initiative, the company aims to respond to the demand of many haulage associations and the road transport sector in general (which in Spain represents >95% of freight transport), given the lack of supply of this type of infrastructure in Spain.

Sustainable parking

Sustainability has been a strategic pillar in the Manises' truck parking project. Thus, the modifications have been made to strengthen the commitment of both the City Council and the company to reduce the carbon footprint by promoting the reduction of energy consumption of the facilities, the use of renewable energies, the use of recycled materials in the reform process, the increase in the energy efficiency of the buildings, and the reduction of noise pollution and the increase in CO2 capture through the renovation of the green perimeter enclosure and the extension of the planted units to around 500 trees.
