Ensto invests in energy efficient LED lighting

Ensto starts sales and manufacturing co-operation with Greenlux Finland Oy, a 5 year old technology company specialized in energy efficient LED lighting solutions. With this co-operation, Ensto expands its offering on office and industrial LED lighting that has immense market potential world-wide. This move supports Ensto's strategy to focus on energy efficiency and sustainable development.

According to McKinsey research, LED lighting market share can grow tenfold in ten years up to 64 billion euros in 2020 due to climate change driving governments to set strict rules for energy efficiency that reduces CO2 emissions. Also heavy urbanization leads to more lighting needed in cities. 'Energy efficient lighting solutions and LED technology are one of the key factors in the fight against climate change and towards our sustainable future' confirms Timo Luukkainen, CEO of Ensto Group.

Being aware of the trend, Ensto has looked for a suitable partner to join forces with. 'We wanted to build a partnership with a top player to gain more market share. Greenlux is the leading provider of LED luminaries for parking garages in Scandinavia. These lighting solutions are proven to save up to 80% in energy which will benefit both our customers and the environment’ Luukkainen adds.

The sales co-operation will be visible at Electricity, Telecommunications, Light and Audio Visual fair in early February in Jyväskylä, Finland as well as at Light + Building fair in late March in Frankfurt, Germany.

Greenlux Finland is a member of Cleantech Finland as is also Ensto. Greenlux Finland grew its turnover by over 130% in 2013 to a level of 2.6 M€.
