EFAFLEX High-Speed Doors - Part of a Global Concept

The 300,000 square meter outlet combines shopping, leisure, entertainment, food, fashion and a parents-child area all under one roof: The Harbin Fun² Shopping Mall. A total of twelve high-speed doors from the world market leader EFAFLEX have now been installed at the entrances and exits of the underground car park of this huge shopping centre.

According to Project Manager FUN² is a new commercial venture launched by the Chinese state which means that it was subject to strict tender, review and approval procedures.

 The underground parking for visitors and buyers corresponds to the brand values of the company in terms of quality and performance in all technical matters. A total of twelve high-speed spiral doors (EFA-SST®) were installed there. The high-quality and safe building doors open at a speed of up to 2 meters per second and close immediately after the vehicle has passed at a rate of up to 1 meter per second. This fast action prevents unwanted access and unauthorized vehicles from entering the building.

Some of the high-speed doors are integrated into the escape route concept in the event of a fire or disaster.

The openings for the entrances and exits were very wide at eight meters, explains the Operating Manager of Tianjin Brown Technology Development. For this reason, columns were built in the middle of the openings and two gates each with sizes of 3200 mm x 2700 mm up to 3800 mm x 4300 mm installed side by side. This has required an immense high degree of execution accuracy by the technicians.
