EFAFLEX: Parking with a Little Extra

Safety and cleanliness for motorists, in addition to location and manoeuverability, are the most important criteria for the use of parking garages. Municipalities and cities around the world therefore opt for EFAFLEX's parking garage doors to protect their car parks against unauthorized access, vandalism and pollution.

With the high-speed spiral door for EFA-SST® PS parking systems, the engineers at EFAFLEX have developed a space-saving door that is especially suitable for parking and garage systems. Even with minimal space available in the lintel or side panel areas, the construction can still be used.

The EFAFLEX spiral continues to serve as a design principle. However, the space requirement has been substantially reduced compared to conventional spiral doors by a more compact spiral design. The narrower louvres (height 105 mm) also help to ensure that the door can be used even in cramped conditions in the lintel area. This makes the gate optimally suitable for underground garages. If there is only little space above the door, customers can choose between two space-saving installation variants for the door systems: the oval spiral and the low-fall version.

The safe building door opens at a speed of 1.8 m/s and closes at 1 m/s immediately after the vehicle has passed. The EFA-SST® PS prevents unwanted access and unauthorized vehicles are prevented from entering the building. Especially where security plays a major role, such as in banks, public authorities, other public institutions or hotels, the fast and secure gates help to make the entry and exit areas of parking and underground garages safer.

For better ventilation and for integration into smoke extraction systems, it is also possible to supply the doors with perforated slats. Depending on the required amount of light, the door specialist uses transparent sheets made of acrylic glass within the door leaf.

While conventional garage doors are expected to have only about five opening cycles per day, the EFA-SST® PS is designed for 200,000 cycles per year. Due to the narrow slats, the parking garage door is also very stable and guarantees a higher wind resistance than any other high-speed door.
