Sweden's largest parking app launches in Landskrona

Sweden’s largest parking app is now available to pay for on-street parking throughout Landskrona, with the city being the very latest to join EasyPark’s already extensive coverage network. According to Landskrona traffic technician, Berne Johansson, this is a big step in providing residents with a digital solution they can use across the region.

“We want to get more citizens to pay for their parking by mobile phone - it's easier and better than other means of payment. Therefore, we are pleased to now offer our residents the Easy Park mobile app, a service many use in other cities,” said Johansson.

An app for multiple cities

A Landskrona local already using the EasyPark app is Peter Koppe. He lives locally and works as a photographer in Helsingborg and Malmö. Koppe says he is delighted with the news that EasyPark now works in his hometown too.

“I use several parking apps but EasyPark has by far the best functionality. It is also the only app that works in several cities, which makes it very convenient for our users,” he said.

The mobile phone is rapidly increasing as a means of payment for parking in Sweden. In Q3 of 2016, EasyPark increased the number of transactions by over 82 per cent in Helsingborg, while in Malmö use increased by 70 per cent compared with the same period last year.

“Landskrona has been on our wish list for some time now, so this is really great news for local motorists given our already broad local coverage in the region. Landskrona Municipality now wants to concentrate on getting more people to use their phones when parking and we are delighted to be working together with Landskrona to increase use in the region,” says Anders Bäck, Managing Director for EasyPark Sweden.
