More Parking Space for EasyPark Users Through Collaboration With XPark

EasyPark Has Started a Collaboration With XPark, Supplier of a Parking Management System for Owners and Managers of Parking Lots.

EasyPark and XPark Collaboration

EasyPark has started a partnership with XPark, supplier of a parking management system for owners and managers of parking lots. The partnership makes it possible for app users to park in parking lots that are currently closed to the general public and the parking rate is often cheaper than on the street. This significantly increases the supply of parking spaces for EasyPark users and removes cars from the streets, which improves the liveability of cities.

The EasyPark app gives users access to XPark locations in the Netherlands. XPark has equipped 70 sites with a parking system, mainly at office buildings that are closed off by a barrier. An increasing number of these sites are being made available to the general public. This month, the first location in Haarlem will be made available in the EasyPark app. And the ambition is to expand this to 12 locations in the coming six months.

When users have enabled license plate recognition in their EasyPark account, the license plate is read upon arrival and XPark ensures that the barrier opens. The parking session is also automatically started in the app. Using the same technology (Automatic Number Plate Recognition), the barrier opens upon departure and the parking session is automatically ended. This makes the parking process easy and contactless. And payment is also automatic and effortless.

More parking options and lower costs

With the addition of XPark locations to the EasyPark app, users will soon have more parking choices, often at lower rates than on-street parking. This offers users a financial advantage and also helps to reduce search traffic, which improves the quality of life in busy city centres. Land owners also reap the benefits of the collaboration.

Michael Stark, Country Director of EasyPark Netherlands, explains: “Thanks to our partnership with XPark, we offer our users more parking options, reduce the time spent searching for a parking space and license plate recognition ensures that everything runs extra smoothly and automatically. This saves our app users time and money. In addition, we remove cars from the streets, which improves the quality of life in busy city centres.

Peter Peddemors, Managing Director of XPark, says: "With XPark, owners always know how busy their site is. This allows them to make their empty spaces available to people who want to park during quiet times without any worries. The connection with EasyPark makes it possible for a huge group of parkers to use these spaces. Which of course also makes the model a lot more attractive to our customers, the site owners."

Joint ambitions for expansion

EasyPark and XPark want to further expand the number of available parking locations in the Netherlands in the coming years. In addition, they want to make XPark locations accessible to EasyPark users who do not have license plate recognition turned on. In this way, every user is ultimately supported. The collaboration fits in with EasyPark's broader objective to expand the parking offer for users, whereby parking becomes easier, faster and more affordable, and searching for a parking space becomes a thing of the past.
