DESIGNA’s Smart Solutions at New Goa Manohar Airport, India

The Goa Manohar Airport's partnership with DESIGNA underscores the commitment to operational efficiency and future growth.

More than 200 airports worldwide have chosen the leading technology of DESIGNA for their airport parking solution – New Goa Manohar Airport is going to be the next one. We are very happy to announce that we will be equipping the airport’s parking grounds with our personalized soft- and hardware. Installations are scheduled to start this fall.

With our smart solutions in soft- and hardware, we aim to ensure seamless operations and convenience for travelers.

For a smooth flow of vehicles, the Goa Manohar Airport boasts a total of 20 lanes, with 10 entrance lanes and 10 exit lanes. Each lane is equipped with License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology and features 18-inch display barriers, providing a comprehensive and efficient entry and exit management system and smooth and swift vehicle processing.

The airport management has adopted a customer-centric approach by offering multiple payment options and DESIGNA is going to make it happen with the right soft- and hardware. Passengers have the flexibility to choose between 'cash at exit,' 'FASTag' (Indian long-range UHF sticker), or 'MTP payment' methods. This diverse range of payment options caters to the preferences of various travelers, ensuring a hassle-free experience when leaving the airport premises.

The Goa Manohar Airport envisions the implementation of a hybrid ticketing system followed by a ticketless system for its operations in the future. This forward-thinking approach demonstrates the airport's and DESIGNA's joint commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. By embracing ticketless solutions, DESIGNA aims to streamline operations, reduce paper waste, and enhance the overall efficiency of their parking services.

In an effort to incentivize eco-friendly vehicles and promote sustainable practices, the airport has implemented a tariff differentiation system based on the color of the license plate. This innovative approach encourages passengers to opt for vehicles with lower carbon emissions, thereby contributing to a greener environment. Such initiatives highlight the airport's dedication to sustainable transportation solutions.

DESIGNA's parking management system incorporates various digital solutions to enhance the overall parking experience. The personalized software enables prebooking, contract parking, and mobile ticket payments, allowing passengers to conveniently reserve parking spaces in advance. Additionally, an operator handheld device has been developed specifically for cash payments within the car park, ensuring a swift and efficient payment process.

Also, recognizing the potential for a significant influx of vehicles, we implemented a cluster server capable of handling up to 25,000 vehicles per day. This robust infrastructure ensures smooth operations even during peak hours.

The Goa Manohar Airport's partnership with DESIGNA underscores the commitment to operational efficiency and future growth. With the realistic operation set to commence in November 2023 and DDS functions expected to be available in early 2024, the airport will be well-prepared to handle the growing demands of the aviation industry while providing an exceptional passenger experience.
