The parking management specialist can look back on a successful 2007, having recorded an increase in turnover of more than 20% compared with the previous year
DESIGNA-The 2007 business year in review
Kiel, 29th January 2008:After a profitable year, DESIGNA Verkehrsleittechnik GmbH is starting the new year with plenty of motivation. In the past year turnover grew by more than 20% in comparison with 2006.
One reason for this growth rate is the positive advances made with the new PM ABACUS system, with which the company has taken a technical lead. New functions such as a fully integrated LPR (License Plate Recognition) system and Pre-Booking (reserving a parking space over the Internet) have been successfully added.
In Germany, PM 100 systems are increasingly being upgraded to the PM ABACUS system, such as, for example, that at Hamburg Airport (HAM). Through the worldwide leading car park company, Vinci Park, the company has won a contract to convert 25 Karstadt car parks to PM ABACUS. By the same token, the complete Würzburg city network with over 20 connected car parks has also been upgraded to the PM ABACUS system.
DESIGNA has also achieved success on an international level too. One of the largest integrated parking projects in the world, the Mid Valley Mega Mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was completed and opened in 2007.
We were able to rise to the challenge in partnership with the Malaysian clients. In only four weeks, our teams installed the system and networked it in full. This is the way that large projects must work, as growth will come with our clients success, explained Managing Director, Dr. Thomas Waibel, speaking about the Mid Valley Mega Mall project.
Even Schleswig-Holsteins Prime Minister, Peter Harry Carstensen, did not pass up on the chance to take part in the celebratory opening ceremony, cutting the red ribbon.
Another large project at Dubai Airport (DXB) is currently in the delivery phase.
The international market promises to be of great interest during 2008 too. Most notably, DESIGNA sees good prospects in the above average growth on the South American continent.
Important partnerships with leading domestic and international car park operators continue to promise intensive collaboration.
