Designa awarded tenders for mega project on the former Expo site in Lisbon
DESIGNA is installing a fully networked PM ABACUS parking system with its Portuguese partner, Park-Car, on the Expo 98 exhibition site in Lisbon, Portugal.
The former exhibition site in Lisbon now houses ten newly built office complexes. And DESIGNA Verkehrsleittechnik GmbH has received an order to install its PM ABACUS parking system in the sites underground parking garage. The 4,000 parking spaces for office employees and visitors to the neighbouring shopping centre cover five levels.
The magnitude of the networked PM ABACUS system at 30,000 m2 is comparable to the scale of the entire EXPO complex: 34 entrances and exits, 19 automatic pay stations and 2 manual pay systems are all brought together on a single central database server. And thanks to the universal and multi-interface infrastructure of the PM ABACUS network, the Portuguese operators are able to connect their system to the local Via-Verde toll system, commented Stefan Koch, DESIGNAs Sales Manager.
The entire building complex is already complete, and at present courts, the public prosecutors department and other public bodies are housed in the 3 to 18-floor office blocks. This means that there are many daily visitors who will make use of the new PM ABACUS system for their
parking needs.
