DESIGNA Continues Cooperation With Ulmer Parkbetriebsgesellschaft

DESIGNA can be found many times over in the city center of Ulm, Germany.
In 8 different buildings with a total of over 3000 parking spaces we contribute to the infrastructure of the city center.

Ulmer Parkbetriebsgesellschaft will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2024. Since 1969, the company has pursued the goal of providing a sufficient supply of parking spaces to strengthen Ulm as a shopping and service location and to optimize traffic flow.

The chosen remedy: inviting parking areas with friendly colors, good lighting, staffing with supervisory personnel 365 days a year, and modern equipment.

This is where DESIGNA comes in. Over the past few years, DESIGNA has had the honor of equipping eight different parking areas belonging to the Ulmer Parkbetriebsgesellschaft with state-of-the-art parking technology and hardware.

Neither residents nor visitors need to worry about the parking situation in the city center. Standardization of the spaces gives users a feeling of reliability and contributes to a uniform cityscape.

The latest addition is the Parkhaus am Bahnhof with 540 parking spaces. A completely new building, which went into operation in 2022, fully equipped with DESIGNA software and hardware.

The Parkhaus am Bahnhof has two entrances and exits each with advertising displays, 7 CASHLESS PAY STATIONS, 3 CASH & CARD PAY STATIONS with advertising displays, as well as a built-in LPR system, which will be put into operation in mid-September 2023. In addition, the parking garage has two parking areas and collective exits to ensure a fluid flow of visitors and to meet future requirements for "Kiss+Ride" in the direct vicinity of the station. The parking garage at the station is a component of the mobility hub at Ulm's main station. It is possible to switch from car to train, streetcar, and bus in the immediate vicinity. The expansion of car sharing and bicycle parking is also planned in the near future.

Another special feature of the project: in order to break the standard of a dreary parking garage, the customer wanted the DESIGNA hardware in a bright yellow. The color makes a friendly impression on visitors and also ensures that the equipment is highly visible.

DESIGNA works very flexibly when it comes to implementing projects. The software and hardware are always tailored to the needs of the customer, and in some cases, individual adjustments can be made even afterward. A desired color for the devices is just one example of what is possible.

The installation in the parking garage at the train station in Ulm impresses with a combination of stylish, eye-catching design and modern software that simplifies parking for everyone.
