Circontrol: Raption 100 Fast Charger Launch
Circontrol Launches a 100 KW Fast Charger That Doubles the Charge Power and Halves the Charge Time of Its Best-Selling Fast Charge Station
Circontrol, a leader in mobility and electric vehicle charging solutions, has launched a 100 kW fast charger, the Raption 100. This charger preserves the advantages of its predecessor, the Raption 50, which was introduced 3 years ago and is one of the company’s best-selling charging stations. In 2019 alone, over a thousand Raption 50 units were sold worldwide. It is a fast charging station that has been very well-received by the market thanks to its usability, reliability and compact and elegant design that can be fully personalised.
The new station has been designed to meet the rapid charging needs of new electric vehicle models with larger batteries capable of offering greater range, but without sacrificing the design nor most of the features that defined its predecessor, the Raption 50: modular power technology, elegant yet robust design, user-friendliness and reliability. All this makes the Raption 100 the perfect charger to install at restaurants, petrol stations, shopping centres, airports and intercity areas; settings where short charges of no more than 20 minutes are highly desirable, but thanks to the characteristics of new EVs, they can increase the range by over 200 km.
Highlights include:
- The new station meets the rapid charging needs of new EV models with larger
- batteries.
- In an average 20-minute charging session, the new Raption 100 is capable of increasing the range of an EV by more than 200 km.
- The equipment is ideal for restaurants, petrol stations, shopping centres, airports and/or other settings where charging times need to be reduced.
- Its state-of-the-art modular architecture guarantees reliability and allows for power scalability.
Meeting the Rapid Charging Needs of New Electric Vehicles
The new Raption 100 charging station doubles the charge power compared to the previous model, meeting the rapid charging needs of new EVs (electric vehicles) with larger batteries and capable of offering greater range. As Circontrol CEO Joan Hinojo pointed out, “the modular technology has been preserved and the power of the charging modules increased”. This means the charge station is capable of delivering twice the power while maintaining its compact external appearance, an aspect that is highly-valued by the market.
Scalability and Flexibility
The modular architecture of the Raption devices allows for power scalability of 25 kW, 50 kW or
100 kW (in the case of the Raption 100), depending on the contracted power and the installation
requirements. It also means it can be adapted to the growing battery sizes of new EV models.
Furthermore, this also guarantees high uptime as if one of the modules fails the others will keep
working. In this respect, the Raption 100 also retains the unique connector care concept with the connector locking feature and floating cable design, another highly-valued aspect of the previous model, which makes the device safer and reduces maintenance costs.
Also, like the previous model, the Raption 100 can function as a Master at multi-point installations, combining DC and AC charging. In addition to minimising the initial investment (CAPEX) and maintenance costs (OPEX) when several chargers are required, this solution also results in considerable energy savings, as the Master device distributes the available power according to the number of charge points in use.
Quick, Easy and Accessible Charging
Just like the 50 kW model, Circontrol’s new fast-charge station offers an easy and intuitive charging experience. Its 8-inch colour touch screen, language selection, courtesy light and integrated contactless card payment system are some of the aspects most highly-valued by EV drivers.
