Came Parkare Presents Successful Project with the City of Madrid at the Mobility Report of AIPARK-ASSTRA

In May, CAME Parkare presented at the 2019 Edition of the Mobility Report in Rome, Italy. It was organized as usual by AIPARK (the Italian parking and mobility operators association) and ASSTRA (international transport and logistics company) and this year collaborated with the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Rome.

There exists in the mobility system of Italy, as in most of Europe, an imbalance with a clear trend towards private mobility, which has a negative impact on pollution, environment, territory, economy, and society.

The sustainable development of mobility and local public transport involves the optimization of parking policies. The Environmental Agenda accomplishment is a major political challenge. Objectives indicated in the Treaty of Paris and shared by the United Nations to reduce pollution need to be achieved.

In that context, Renato Berto, CAME Parkare Managing Director, presented a case study from an Integration Web Platform developed for the city of Madrid. The platform allowed the city authorities to manage parking meters from three different manufacturers with centralized management. And also helped them in their effort to reduce pollution with dynamic tariffs depending on the CO2 emissions of vehicles, occupancy rates or distinguishing commercial vehicles from private ones.
