APCOA Launches Its Latest Urban Mobility Hub In Sheffield
APCOA has this week officially launched its latest Urban Mobility Hub at The Moor multi-storey car park on Sheffield’s Eyre Street. These centrally located car parks already fulfil a vital primary purpose but with an increasing scrutiny on the value of urban sites and an essential focus on sustainability, there is an opportunity for such prime sites to offer more value to the local community, a contribution towards environmental targets and a blueprint for the future of car parks across the UK and beyond.
By working with a unique network of partner organisations, APCOA’s Sheffield Urban Mobility Hub has been equipped to offer a range of services which are focused on the needs of the local community. These include five Compleo EV fast chargers, secure lockable bike racks with integral EV charging and three vendor lockers covering all major delivery outlets and eliminating the need for emission-heavy multiple location courier drop offs.
The new look Moor Hub also provides visitors with a pre-bookable, soundproof, heated private office pod, a seating area and vending facilities. There is also an information screen displaying real-time bus, rail and tram timetables and free WiFi is available throughout.
Visitors will find clearly marked designated bays for EV charging, blue badge holders, parent and child parking and pre bookable premium parking, all facilitated by state-of-the-art ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology and linked to a variety of convenient payment options including autopay, pre-booking, APP payment, ScanPay and late-pay. Enhanced and energy efficient LED lighting and paperless parking transactions also improve the experience for customers and add to the increased sustainability of the site.
Additionally, there are opportunities for local businesses to utilise the existing infrastructure and footfall to their advantage by working with APCOA to create pop up shops and kiosks or to use parking bays for other innovative services. Interested businesses can find out more by contacting marketinguk@apcoa.com.
Urban Mobility Hubs are undoubtedly the future of car parks and a convenient and practical centre point for communities committed to sustainability. With more than 1600 car parks across the UK, there is enormous potential for APCOA to make a difference by working with landlords and our partner organisations to create a network of Urban Mobility Hubs which support sustainability goals and greatly benefit local communities. APCOA’s Manchester Urban Mobility Hub is due to go live within the next few weeks with seven further sites identified for transformation over the coming months.
