APCOA Expands Presence in Hanover
New Location at Podbi Park in the List District Now in Operation
APCOA Parking Germany will take over the operation of the Podbi-Park underground car park in Hanover on November 1. The multi-storey car park, located in the immediate vicinity of the former headquarters of the pastry manufacturer Bahlsen in the List district, has 613 parking spaces on seven levels. From there, for example, a rehabilitation center, a library, a fitness studio, the Citizens’ Registration Office, and various medical practices can be reached quickly.
What is special about the building is its circular shape with seven floors built in a circle one below the other. Users can drive in and out via two driveways with a height of two meters. Each hour started costs a flat rate of two euros, and there are flexible price models for long-term parkers. The width of the parking spaces ranges from 1.80 meters to 3.45 meters and the length from 4.20 meters to 6.20 meters.
License Plate Recognition Saves Time and Paper
The parking garage can be used without a ticket. At the entrance, an innovative scanner technology recognizes the license plate number with the help of cameras, sends the data to the system and opens the barrier automatically. At the ticket machine, customers simply enter their license plate number instead of a ticket and pay the corresponding parking fee. This saves paper and protects the environment. This functionality will be available to all parking users from mid-November.
New Usage Options Through Urban Hubs Services
There are also plans to include the car park in APCOA's Urban Hubs network. Part of the parking space is to be made available to partner companies who can offer their services there. This also includes e-charging stations, which are already available in the underground car park. More offers will be added soon. At other locations, there are, for example, rental stations for sharing vehicles or lockers for picking up parcels.
"With our new location, we are expanding our presence in the Hanover and Braunschweig area and strengthening our market presence in Lower Saxony," Anja Müller, Operations Director at APCOA PARKING Germany. “The location of the underground car park is ideal for a visit to the nearby rehabilitation center, the Citizens Registration Office, or the library. In addition, we offer our customers a particularly convenient parking experience through the use of modern technology and enable the use of services in the multi-storey car park.”
