Amano McGann to Install a New System and Continue its Relationship with the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport

Amano McGann was awarded the parking equipment replacement contract for the Mid-Continent Airport in Wichita, Kansas in the fall of 2013. The Mid-Continent Airport is the busiest airport in Kansas and will be undergoing a major overhaul including a new, state-of-the-art terminal building and multi-level parking structure.

Historically, the airport has been using the AMG and AGP Series lines of equipment functioning in a stand-alone, offline mode. The new addition and upgrade will allow the airport to utilize advanced parking technology and receive online, real-time data.

The new installation includes automated entry stations, exit stations, fee computers, pay-on-foot stations, License Plate Identification hardware and software, proximity access and Amano security cameras all designed to enhance customer experience and safety while helping the City of Wichita’s Airport Authority better evaluate parking demand and operate in the most efficient manner.

The new parking system is expected to further benefit parking operations due to the fact that the airport itself plays an integral role in the economy of South Central Kansas. The airport’s parking facilities include three public parking lots, one employee lot and one permit lot along with one parking structure consisting of 33 lanes and 4,566 parking spaces. Installation will begin this summer with expected completion in the spring of 2015.
