Smart Parking supports new Sevenoaks shopping expansion

Leading parking management company Smart Parking has secured the lease to operate a new car park at the heart of expanding retail facilities in Sevenoaks.

The Basement Car Park on London Road in the Kent town forms part of a development that will be occupied by a new Marks & Spencer store.  The store will open in September ahead of the Christmas 2014 shopping season.

The Basement Car Park, which is located underneath the new store development, is ideally positioned to support the increased flow of shoppers that will come into Sevenoaks when the new store opens.

The car park will deploy a pay-by-plate ANPR system to calculate parking charges. Marks & Spencer will incentivise shoppers to use the new car park through the provision of a discount voucher to offset against their parking payment. The voucher contains a unique four-digit alphanumeric code, and drivers, who will pay for parking on departure, will enter their code into the car park pay station to reduce the cost of their stay.

Smart Parking will deploy marshals throughout the first week of car park operation to inform and direct drivers.  This initial support, which will be complemented by additional on-site management across the first month of car park operation, will ensure a smooth start-up period of operation.
