Senior AP Specialist (Charlotte, US)

Responsibilities
AP Operations:
- Ensure vendor invoices are processed and paid accurately and on time, including coding invoices to the correct account, department, customer etc.
- Review and process employee expense reports, including working with employees to make sure proper documentation is received, expenses are submitted timely and expenses are within policy.
- Monitor payment status to ensure invoices are being paid within payment terms.
- Manage internal and external AP and T&E related communications including AP inbox.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships from AP perspective, including working with vendors to ensure invoices are received accurately and timely, investigating discrepancies, and reconciling vendor statements.
- Work with internal partners to ensure invoices receive proper approvals on time.
- Manage AP software including entering new vendors and updating information as needed.
- Routinely review AP Aging, exception reports and others to proactively identify issues and ensure resolution.
- Use and create excel reports to summarize activity.
Month-end close - Assume full ownership, including reconciliation and substantiation of all transactions, for the following accounts:
- Accounts Payable
- T&E related accounts
- Accrued expenses
- Prepaid expenses
- Cash flow projections
Additional Responsibilities
- Review and process mail received by the finance department, accept checks, and scan support
- Assist with external audit, compliance, and special projects as necessary

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Solid understanding of Excel
- 2 years in an accounting specialist or similar role
- Exposure to general ledger packages such as Netsuite, Intacct, or MS Dynamics
- Comfortable with the collaborative Google suite of products – Sheets, Drive, etc.
