Director of Engineering and Product Integration

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and implement a strategic vision for product development and engineering that aligns with company and stakeholder goals.
    • Oversee the roadmap for product development, ensuring products meet market demands and maintain technological edge.
  • Process and Project Management
    • Streamline and optimize internal processes to support scalability, focusing on software development, hardware integration, and client support workflows.
    • Lead technical project management efforts with internal resources and 3rd party development augmentation teams, ensuring timely delivery of projects while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Technical Oversight
    • Provide technical leadership across teams, ensuring best practices in software and hardware development.
    • Evaluate and integrate new technologies or processes that can enhance product quality, development speed, or operational efficiency.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination
    • Act as a liaison between engineering, product, support, and other departments, ensuring cohesive and efficient operations.
    • Resolve interdepartmental issues, particularly concerning product bugs or integration challenges.
  • Product Development
    • Drive the product life cycle from conception to launch, ensuring market fit, technical feasibility, and business viability.
    • Collaborate with product managers and marketing to understand market needs and competitive landscape.
  • Team Building and Leadership
    • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of engineers, and developers.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and high performance within the engineering and product teams.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including investors, board members, and external partners about technical strategies, progress, and challenges.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s preferred.
    • 10+ years of experience in software development or systems engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership or senior management role.
    • Proven track record in scaling technology products or companies.
  • Skill and Competencies
    • Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and product management principles.
    • Experience with vision systems, AI/ML, or similar technologies is a strong plus.
    • Excellent project management skills with a history of delivering on time and within budget.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across diverse teams.
