Head of Car Parking and Ground Transportation (Abu Dhabi, AE)

Role Summary

The role of Head of Car Parking and Ground Transportation is responsible to provide strategic direction and management oversight to the Car Parking and Ground Transportation team. Focused on ensuring the highest standards of ground support, crew resourcing, and operational flight plans. This role also ensures compliance with regulatory procedures and industry standards. Additionally, it involves monitoring and controlling costs to enhance commercial revenue and identifying growth opportunities across all facets of transport concession.

Responsibility

Strategic Management:

  • Develop and implement the strategic transportation plan in collaboration with key stakeholders, concessions, and governmental entities to ensure the attainment of defined objectives and revenue targets..

Contract Management:

  • Manage and exploit the transportation contractual terms to deliver incremental revenues through effective negotiation. These include financial management, payment terms, bond performance, communication and relationship approach with ADA.

Operational Performance:

  • Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction is delivered through the monitoring of standards, feedback (ASQ), pricing and consumer research.
  • Work with the various stakeholders to modernise fleet standards in the field of technology – payment solutions, Consumer App development and data analytics to improve operational performance.

Revenue & Capacity Management:

  • Car Parking rates deliver the required revenue and performance as defined in the approved business plan.
  • Ensure parking rates are continually appraised to ensure AD Airport remains competitive.
  • Ensure Car Hire revenues return the equivalent income per passenger from competing airports.
  • Ensure Car Hire revenue and non-revenue components are aligned to those of AD Airports.
  • Implement the introduction of ride sharing companies to AD Airports ensuring the maximisation of revenue, compliance adherence and service standards are met.
  • Ensure Intercity transportation revenues are maximised through a diligent tender award process and development of passenger expansion.
  • Continuously improve commercial transport forecourt management to ensure efficient throughput and maximised revenue return to AD from public services.
  • Identifying new opportunities and gaps within current requirements to increase revenues.

Functional

  • Develop and Implement an effective project management program for Car Parking and Ground transportation services to ensure efficient management of tasks, projects, and contracts.
  • Develop and deliver cost-effective, safe, and compliant policies and procedures to support AD Airports Carpark and Ground Transportation operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on media campaigns to promote available services, pricing, and products, staying updated on emerging trends and innovations.
  • Provide the department’s leadership with data and information related to the extent to which provided services are ensuring value for money and increased efficiency and improved customer satisfaction.
  • Keep up-to-date in terms of emerging trends and innovations in similar environments. Identify and implement industry best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Manage high-level communication with external stakeholders to deliver effective messaging regarding Carpark and Ground transportation development and services.
  • Ensure all customers receive the best possible service and experience while using AD Airports facilities
  • Oversee initiatives aimed at measuring and enhancing customer satisfaction across all provided services, guaranteeing that every customer receives exceptional service , and provide regular feedback to the team to enhance overall customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the proper implementation of contracts, providing leadership with data on value for money, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations governing transportation services.
  • Evaluate and leverage technology solutions such as parking management systems, mobile applications, and digital signage to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, digitization, and innovation to streamline operations and improve service delivery.

Sustainability:

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement sustainability initiatives and solutions across the category.
  • Enhance the EV development and solutions for AD Airports.

Qualifications/ Education and Experience:

  • Strong understanding of parking industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives, manage budgets, and drive operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of sustainable transportation practices and initiatives.

Education, Experience and Qualifications -

  • Bachelor’s degree in management or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in parking management, transportation operations, or facilities management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
