Port of Dakar, Senegal

Sremium, a leading provider of parking management software, and Drivers HelpDesk (DHD), are proud of the successful implementation of a new parking management system in the Port of Dakar, Senegal. 

The new system, which was implemented in Q4 2018 and completed in November 2019, is a 360-degree rebuild of the Port of Dakar's parking infrastructure. The system includes a number of key features, including payments integration, real-time data analytics, integrated automated scheduling & dispatch, ANPR tech, and 24/7 customer service helplines.

The new system includes a number of key features, including:

  • Appointment-based access: Trucks can only access the port after creating an appointment with the operator through its online software system. This system is connected to barriers and automated cameras, which ensure that only authorized trucks are allowed to enter the port.

  • Physical and virtual parking: Trucks can either use the physical parking lot at the port or the online virtual parking schedule. The virtual parking schedule allows trucks to reserve a parking space in advance, which helps to reduce congestion at the port.

  • Real-time data analytics: The system provides PAD with real-time data analytics on truck movements. This data can be used to optimize truck flows and to identify areas where congestion is occurring.

The new system has a number of benefits for PAD, including:

  • Reduced congestion:  The appointment-based access system has helped to reduce congestion at the port. This has made it easier for trucks to enter and exit the port, which has improved efficiency.

  • Streamlined traffic:  The system has also helped to streamline traffic in the areas surrounding the port. This has reduced pollution and improved air quality.

  • Improved data analytics: The real-time data analytics provided by the system has helped PAD to optimize truck flows and to identify areas where congestion is occurring. This has allowed PAD to take steps to improve the flow of traffic at the port.
