National Parking Association’s Parking Consultant’s Council: The PCC fosters information sharing on standards, regulations and trends that impact parking construction, management and operations. It develops best practices and technical educational manuals on parking industry topics.
Autonomous Vehicle Standards Committee: The AVSC formed in 2023 is a prestigious, peer-reviewed group of vetted AVS industry pioneers including Bosch, Continental and others. The group is tasked with forming standards and best practices for this new and fast-growing industry

Over recent years, there has been a growing interest among our customers for autonomous parking utilizing level 2-4 vehicles already on the road in both new and existing parking buildings.
In 2023 EPC set out to transition it’s parking and retrieval software suite (PROvalet) from use within fully automated parking garages and valet garage for use with autonomous vehicles.
Below is a short lift of PROvalet features:
- API for integration with existing plate recognition software
- API for integration with existing billing platforms
- Efficient Parking Space Identification
Using a series of algorithms based on retrieval time, floor/ramp contention, inbound/outbound demand, etc. the PROvalet software eliminates the need for a valet attendant to decide where to park the car.
PV chooses the most efficient parking space for the valet thus saving valuable labor hours.
NOTE: Without specially engineered software and the ability to see in real-time each vehicles movement it is humanly impossible to properly calculate the most efficient space to park or move a vehicle in a valet garage.
Elevated Parking has demonstrated a reduction of 30-50% in labor costs using PV software.
- Efficient Relocation
When faced with obstacles like interfering cars in tandem parking spots or on mechanical lifts, PV provides a new efficient parking space for the interfering vehicle.
NOTE: Without PV most often the interfering vehicle is improperly re-parked causing additional labor.
- Real-Time Task Management
Since valet attendants are tracked throughout the garage by the lidar system, PV provides retrieval or parking instructions to attendants based on their current location in the garage. Example: if an attendant dropped off a car on level 3 and a car requires retrieval on the same level the attendant’s smartphone application will notify him/her of the task.
- Security
The PV software identifies all humans in the garage, if a human is identified in the garage that has not been checked in as a valet attendant PV notifies management of the intruder’s real-time location.
- Autonomous Lift Module
In garages with mechanical lifts parking garage valet attendants are required to exit the vehicle they are parking and manually press the raise or lower button each time they park or retrieve a car from the parking lift. This process can be time-consuming, taking up to five minutes for every car parked and retrieved.
Once PV identifies the most efficient parking space for the valet attendant the PROvalet software seamlessly communicates with the lidar array, which provides crucial data in the form of actionable insights to PROvalet, ensuring the safety of lowering the lift. Upon reaching the suggested parking spot, the lift is automatically lowered, eliminating the need for the valet to exit the car and manually operate the lift. If interfering vehicles have to be moved prior to lift lowering the attendant(s) will be tasked with those maneuvers first.
Once the valet parks the car on the lowered lift and safely exits the vehicle, he/she can effortlessly raise the platform using the PROvalet software app. This streamlined procedure saves approximately 3-5 minutes per parking maneuver, significantly improving efficiency.
