Quercus Technologies develops and manufactures highly technological products which aim at improving mobility and traffic safety. Product applications are focused on parking, traffic, enforcement and security areas. Quercus products include All-in-One license plate recognition units, overview cameras and digital video recorders, virtual-loop based traffic sensors and non intrusive red light cameras. This weeks´showcase is about the launch of the new design of their ANPR units.
Park Mark Safer Parking facility
Also interesting, is that parking in Southampton, UK, just got a little safer: the NCP Portland Terrace car park is awarded with the Park Mark Award! Only parking facilities that meet strict requirements regarding safety and security. The parking operator must make alterations in order to reduce crime and anti-social behavior. For customers, parking in a Park Mark Safer Parking facility means parking in a safer environment and perhaps even losing the feeling of fear of crime. The Safer Parking Scheme is an initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers. In order to become a Park Mark Safer Parking facility, the facility is being tested by an assessment conducted by the Police. The Police searches the area to make sure there are enough measures placed to create a safe and crime resistant environment. The NCP Portland parking garage only had to add few measures to get awarded. NCP owns the most Park Mark awarded parking facilities in the UK.
