Service provider Telefonica Vivo partnered with DOM Parking to provide an online parking platform for the city of Florianopolis. Users of the new service can top up their smartcards or buy a ticket through the Vivo mobile network at any of the parking meters or other points of sales.
Telefonica Vivo is also proving a connection via SIM cards for Dom parking employees who are responsible for monitoring parked vehicles and topping up tickets.
The interesting thing about this technology is that it enables effective monitoring of the parking system, locating the parking meters, identifying ineffective travel and providing access to city information of illegally parked vehicles.
