That’s a wrap for another excellent NPA Convention and Expo! Parking Network was delighted to exhibit yet again and meet with our parking peers from around the world. Held in Austin, Texas from September 18th-21st, parking professionals from across the globe, and on either side of the supply and demand divide, came together to showcase and discover cutting-edge technology tailored to the specific needs of the parking industry,
With a focus on the mobilization of parking and reinvention of the industry in a post-covid world, the busy program explored the interconnection of technology, transportation, consumers, and businesses. Outside of the expo hall, the varied program included informal, open-mic coffee talks, skill builder sessions, facility tours, and main stage presentations.
Thought leaders, entrepreneurs, technology experts, and business executives sparked conversation on the future of mobility and the opportunities for parking asset owners and operators. Discussions ranged from EVs to AVs, grid resilience, payment platforms, and infrastructure investments and all niches found sessions dedicated to their specific needs, from valet parking to off-airport parking.
Key trends that we saw time and again on the expo floor and the main program included
- Smart cities – the technologies required, ways to overcome siloed thinking, and how to ensure they make economic sense
- EVs – preparing the necessary infrastructure and boosting consumer confidence
- Mobility – assimilating parking into the wider mobility ecosystem
- The evolution of touchless technology from mobile phone-based technology to connected vehicle, automated, and voice-powered solutions.
Aside from the busy main program, Parking Network enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with our existing business members and build relationships with the wider parking community. We’re certainly looking forward to next year’s event, and have already marked it in our calendar! We look forward to seeing you all again in New Orleans from September 19-21, 2023!
