This was a very special year for our Airport Parking Network Event as we celebrated our 10th anniversary at the Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport! That’s right, for the past ten years we have been hosting a networking event dedicated to bringing together airport parking operators and parking solution providers.
Following introductions from our very own Jorrit Weerman, and Laurent Palayret, Senior Manager of Mobility and Connections from our co-host Groupe ADP, attendees were treated to a live video experience of robotic parking at Lyon Airport, presented by Stanley Robotics’ Stéphano Evanno.
Shared Experiences and New Solutions
Next, airport parking managers discussed trends and pressing issues specific to the airport parking niche. Working together in a non-competitive environment attendees were able to share experiences and generate solutions for a variety of topics, including revenue and yield management, digitized parking, e-commerce and marketing, and tailored services.
Interactive Workshops
Throughout the event, our Parking Network members hosted interactive workshops covering a range of topics such as revenue growth, the impact of electric mobility, and ways to create a seamless customer journey. These engaging workshops helped attendees consider the benefits of a variety of solutions to common airport parking problems.
The City of Love
They say Paris is the city of love, and so what better location to introduce our new matchmaking service? Before the event airport parking managers were given the opportunity to choose which companies they would like to meet so that we could arrange appointments for them.
Celebrations at Château de Champlâtreux
Following a busy day of discussion, workshops and networking guests were whisked away to an extra special dinner location. Typically used as a film set, we felt that Château de Champlâtreux would make a stunning backdrop for our anniversary celebrations. As well as our exclusive networking dinner, the evening was filled with surprises, including a cocktail mixologist, caricaturist and Frank Sinatra himself!
Tour of Terminal 2
On the second day, attendees received a very unique tour of the airport parking facilities at Paris Charles de Gaulle. Focusing on the Terminal 2 installation, attendees were shown the new RoissyPole Station (CGDVAL), the kiss and fly service, parking area featuring 6000 bays, motorbike parking, premium parking, taxi stands, and parking operating center.
A Few Thank Yous!
Airport Parking Network Event 2018 was a tremendous success, giving airport parking managers new ideas to optimize their operations, and industry solution providers a greater understanding of what is currently required in the airport parking niche.
We look forward to continuing the discussion at next year’s event and would like to thank all the airport parking operators, the industry representatives and Groupe ADP for helping us make this event a success!
