We all know how essential research is for improving and evolving every element within our industry – but how do we know which topics are of the utmost importance when deciding upon how best to spend research time and money?
The BPA has funded academic research carried out in the UK on topics relating to parking from the UK and Europe, it’s aim being to identify areas where further research would prove beneficial and to make suggestions for projects, in both the long and short term, that would meet the requirements of these research gaps. Download the original brief here.
We now have an overview of the results of this research and the BPA have selected six topics that are of particular interest to them:
- Provision of seamless access
- Payment and information systems
- Impact of autonomous vehicles
- Accessibility for disabled people
- Multi-use of spaces
- The true cost of ‘free parking’ in the UK
The BPA has generated an executive summary of the report findings, inclusive of the identified gap analysis, download it here.
Are these topics aligned with your company’s aims for the future? Where do you think research resources should be being spent?
