Get up to speed on the headline highlights from March

March 2020 was a month like no other. As the COVID-19 pandemic took hold and entire countries entered lockdown we have been faced with an unprecedented challenge. With employees forced to work from home, crucial events in the calendar canceled and business travel an impossibility we need to find new ways of working together until the threat of Coronavirus subsides.

Parking Network has always been dedicated to connecting professionals worldwide and we are here now to help you overcome the obstacles and challenges of these uncertain times. Our new event, the Parking Network Virtual Conference will bring you all of the benefits of a tradeshow without you needing to leave your desk. During the event, companies will be given the opportunity to pitch their existing solutions, launch new products and share their success stories before leading a Q&A session with attendees.

We welcome members of the parking industry looking to collaborate, as well as key decision-makers from the various parking verticals, including airports, municipalities, and property managers to join the audience for free. And, all of our Parking Network Business Members are invited to take up their first presentation slot for free. Do you want to join the Parking Network Virtual Conference? It is a difficult time for us all, but by optimizing the online opportunities available to us we can continue to connect with our peers around the globe.

From the Parking Network Team

We may be hard at work planning the Parking Network Virtual Conference but we are also busy updating parking.net with all the latest news, developments, tenders and job opportunities. Here you will find news articles, blog posts and videos tackling all the key trends in the industry.

In March we finished our Is Parking Dead? Quick Question series and asked our industry experts What Makes Parking Smart? We certainly received a broad range of responses, from mobility hubs and seamless parking, to blockchain and parking data. Watch the first video in the series below:

Emanuell Tomes, CTO of LTS AG took his moment In the Spotlight to tell us more about what makes their traffic and parking management system unique and what they have planned for the future.

We’ve also been busy blogging this month. We explored the role that Artificial Intelligence can play in unlocking smart parking by taking a closer look at Belgium’s smartest car park. We also considered ways that the parking industry can incorporate blockchain to create efficiencies and open up potential.

And, having heard a lot about mobility during the Quick Question series we delved deeper into this trend to see how existing parking facilities can diversify their offer and transform themselves into mobility hubs.
