This first month of the new year for us has been a busy one, with lots of planning and new developments already coming to light in our industry. Partnerships:
Worldline completed the acquisition of Axepta Italy in a joint venture with BNL, bringing a further 37,000 merchants under their wing. HERE added more than 400 Indoor Parking Garages across Europe and North America to Its Indoor Map through its Partnerships with APCOA and Propark Mobility, whilst Scheidt and Bachmann France started their year off with a new contract with the IKEA Group.
Investments and Acquisitions:
LAZ started the year off strong with their announcement of a long-term investment from Argo Infrastructure Partners, in a move expected to support further investment in EV charging infrastructure assets across the US. Propark’s acquisition of parking management company Sovereign Services will see Propark extend its presence in Texas.
GB & Partners Investment Management and its portfolio company, Asura Technologies, now own the majority share in PRRS in an acquisition that brings together the strategic partnership of PRRS’s 20 years of unique parking enforcement and collections expertise, with Asura’s video analytic systems and AI-based license plate recognition software.
NMI expand deeper into the commerce value chain through its acquisition of IRIS CRM. This move will allow the duo to provide added value for partners by bringing together easy sign-up and onboarding for merchants with the ability to quickly monetize payments.
Last September saw the sale of EYSA Citizens business (ElParking and Imbric mobility apps) to Mutua Madrileña and this month sees the sale of EYSA to H.I.G Capital, with the combined sale of both being the largest transaction in smart mobility in Spain over the last few years.
Everything Data:
DESIGNA argue that it is imperative to ensure your customer data is protected, whilst REKOR have been tasked to capture and subsequently provide analytics at Philadelphia Navy Yard in a pilot project. Parkopedia started off the year with a bang by being named the leading parking data provider in the US following the latest Ground Truth Testing (GTT) report.
Contactless and Payments:
ParkMobile had a busy first month providing the City of Greenville, Clarksville, College Station and Memphis respectively with contactless parking payment options. CCV were selected to be the payment provider of choice at selected EV charging stations across Germany, whilst Get My Parking’s award-winning smart parking platform now enables parking operators to offer EV charging as a value-added service that can be discovered, managed and paid for through a custom-branded consumer app. Get My Parking also integrated over ten payment gateways to their parking platform to ease digital payment adoption American parking operators.
