There´s a new type of electrical barrier available in Holland: The electric barrier that operates entirely on solar power. The company Falco presented the new barrier in a press release on the 8th of January (press release is in Dutch).
They named this new barrier ´Solar´, because it operates entirely on solar power. Therefor the costs and use of electricity are eliminated to make the barrier sustainable and cheaper. Also the maintenance- and installation costs are low.
The solar powered barrier is made out of aluminum with a powder coating. The barrier itself has reflecting stripes for safety and visibility. The barrier is very compact and easy to install; because it operates entirely on solar power, there is no need for a connection to the electricity network and there are no loops or other detectors required because of its solar cell.
The barrier has a remote control with a reach of 12 meters. It’s attached to the ground with a plate of 200 x 200 x 5 mm. The barrier is available in different lenghts from 1.5 to 2.5 meters, making the barrier suitable for both broad and narrow streets.
