In more and more cities residents and visitors are able to pay for parking via mobile payment providers. According to the Nationaal Parkeer Register, a national database, the number of cities who provide a mobile payment option for parking in the Netherlands grew to 58 municipalities in the first half of 2015.
In the first half of 2015 there were a total of 19 million mobile parking transactions, most of them taking place in Amsterdam.
In 2015 the Nationaal Parkeer Register registered 19 million parking transactions, which is 10 percent more than in the first half of 2014. These parking transaction include on-street, off-street and granted permits.
