Alessandra FaldiAssociation information
Parking management is a fundamental service in the structure of a modern city.
Regulated parking and services that take place along the roadside constitute part of the mobility system and involve the coordination of various components and a series of ITS sectors.
In the urban mobility system, there are strong interactions between the management of parking for private vehicles, those intended for logistics and freight transport, public mobility, electric mobility, shared mobility and all the regulations that govern traffic and circulation; an integrated management of parking at system level is today a key point for managing mobility in a multimodal way.
Above all, parking is a strategic policy tool and certainly an important economic activity, whose proceeds determine the possibility of reinvesting capital in the urban mobility system; within the 27 EU Member States this generates an estimated annual turnover of around 70 billion euros.
Furthermore, the parking system has been - and continues to be - at the forefront of innovation, in terms of sustainable mobility solutions, in the introduction of digitalization and in the functioning of the management activities of the various components of urban mobility.
In this reality that is today more complex than ever, AIPARK - Italian Association of Parking and Mobility Operators fits in , which since 1991 has represented the most important operators in the service sector at national and local level, public and private, professionally competent in the management of parking in structures and paid parking on the street. A sector that operates with its members in more than 250 Italian cities, serving a population of over 22,000,000 citizens. Companies that operate daily with a great sense of responsibility, aware of the essential role played by a strategic sector such as urban mobility (in which the Association's activity falls) which has as its objective the economic and social balance and which guarantees the functionality and sustainable accessibility of our cities throughout the country.
AIPARK
- it is independent and recognized nationally and internationally;
- promotes the culture of parking, conveys the exchange of information and represents the interests of the sector at institutional tables (Ministries, Bank of Italy, ANCE, CONFCOMMERCIO, ANCI) and takes care of the relationship with the territory, organizing - among other things - the Managers' Forum, national events and international conferences throughout Italy;
- is co-signatory with Confcommercio-Imprese per l'Italia of the CCNL for employees of companies in the tertiary sector of distribution and services for the activities of parking and parking assistants.
AIPARK also adheres to the EPA - European Parking Association (an association that brings together operators from 22 European countries, approximately forty million paid parking spaces, more than five hundred thousand employees, which generate resources annually for over twenty-six billion) and participates in European projects on sustainable mobility. Since 2015, AIPARK has held the Presidency of the EPA with its Secretary General.
AIPARK aims to promote and encourage professional connections between members and the spread of the culture of parking and rest.
To this end:
- develops initiatives for the collection and dissemination of information and the exchange of experiences and collaboration between members regarding parking issues;
- coordinates and protects the interests of the category;
- represents and promotes contractual solutions for workers in the sector and offers union assistance to members;
- promotes initiatives and activities aimed at developing the parking sector;
- takes care of the development of regulations with the competent national and international bodies and organizations;
- promotes the examination of innovative technologies and the search for solutions to problems inherent to parking and all complementary and connected activities;
- promotes collaboration with Associations, including those of foreign countries, and with international organizations.
AIPARK has achieved excellent results in thirty years of intense activity. The Association has been able to work in three distinct directions: the legislative context, sector studies and conferences.
